Under your toilet, there is a wax seal that seals your toilet against the floor and prevents water and sewer gas leaks. If your toilet is more than 10 years old it's important to change this, along with the supply line, to prevent unexpected leaks to the floor below you.

A wax ring is made of vegetable- or petroleum-based wax, sometimes with a polyurethane additive. If you are already experiencing leaks or odours, your toilet is overdue for a new wax ring.

*Applies to standard toilet installations only. Applies to residential customers only. (Not valid for commercial properties.) Covers time up to 30 minutes per toilet, using a standard braided line. Does not cover a full toilet replacement or additional repairs.
